Join the Helping Hands Society for our Jay Bell Memorial Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 25th. We can't wait to see you!
For over 20 years, the Helping Hands Society of Greater Washington hosts an annual golf tournament that brings together golf enthusiasts and community supporters for a day of fun, networking, and fundraising.
Proceeds from the tournament directly support our charitable initiatives, helping us make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.
Silent Auction:
Donate Gifts, Win Big Prizes, Make a Difference
During our annual golf tournament, we hold a silent auction to raise additional funds for charity organizations in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. We rely on the generosity of our members and supporters to make this auction a success.
Please consider donating an item to the silent auction. Items can be contributed by you, your employer, family, or friends. Donations can be brought to the tournament or mailed to NAIFA headquarters, or we can arrange for pickup.
Remembering Jay A. Bell:
A Legacy of Leadership and Service

As president of both the DC Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors and the Greater Washington Foundation of Insurance and Financial Advisors (GWFIFA), Jay's dedication to community service and his constant reminder to take the Society "to the next level" continue to inspire our efforts.

Nearly half of Americans know someone struggling with addiction, making substance use disorders a reality that financial professionals can’t afford to ignore. As the opioid epidemic continues to devastate families, its financial impact extends beyond personal hardship—costing the U.S. economy over $1 trillion annually and directly affecting careers, retirement plans, estates, and marriages. The responsibility of financial advisors goes beyond traditional wealth management. Addiction can drain financial resources, create estate planning complications, and leave loved ones vulnerable to long-term financial distress. This course equips financial professionals with the knowledge and tools to identify financial red flags, understand the legal and planning challenges posed by addiction, and implement proactive strategies to safeguard their clients’ financial futures. By integrating personal narratives, case studies, and financial planning solutions, this session provides actionable steps to help clients navigate the financial fallout of substance abuse—while ensuring advisors are prepared for the difficult conversations that come with it.
Your role as a financial advisor is more than managing money—it’s about protecting financial legacies. Gain the knowledge to help clients before it’s too late.
